No trip through Southern California would be complete without a stop at Joshua Tree National Park. In fact, it was the main reason we planned to stay in this part of the state. It’s a beautiful and surreal place. It’s super easy to get to and since none of us had ever been there, it was a must-see.
There are some drawbacks to its convenience and accessibility, though. The place is completely swarming with people.
The first day we went in for some hiking, we actually skipped out on a few of the trails we wanted to do because of the crowds. We did finally find one where the people were at least spaced out more so we felt comfortable getting out to see some of the views. (Positively beautiful, by the way)
The kids got to go back in with Brian (and Uncle Jeremy who just happened to be int he exact same area for work while we were there – Woo Hoo!) and do even more hiking. All in all, it was a beautiful park and we were so thankful that we got to see it
