Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey

Next stop on the adventure was in Minneapolis. Seeing all the grandparents and as much family as possible (as safely as possible) was high on the list of things to do after all the COVID shut-downs. Living in a RV, we had been essentially isolated from the world – no need for restaurants or even rest areas, so we felt relatively decent about being able to see our families. We choose the Minneapolis KOA specifically due to location – it was mere minutes from Brian’s family. We wanted to be as convenient as possible to them.

The park itself was a pretty typical KOA. It was situated in the middle of suburbia, so that was a little odd for us, but it had a small playground, wide spaces, decent wifi and plenty of trees and paths we could explore. It was nice being there at the tail end of the season. The park was relatively empty and so it felt huge. The weather was pretty nice during the days and just chilly enough at night for perfectly cozy evenings.

We had adventures and bonfires and we talked and played. So much had been missed throughout the year, so we made of point of celebrating every birthday and anniversary for 2020 with cakes and piƱatas. All in all, I would call this some amazing quality family time.
