One of the great adventure days that we had in Minnesota was split between the Como Zoo and Minnehaha Falls. We were looking for fun things to do outdoors where we knew that social distancing wouldn’t be an issue and both of these places completely fit the bill. It’s such a delicate dance to navigate the pandemic. After spending the majority of spring and summer spent locked up in our house, we were craving ways to (safely) get out and explore.
Como Zoo had shut down the majority of its indoor exhibits and reservations were needed to limit the amount of people coming in. Masks were also required both indoors and out, so we felt relatively comfortable going to see the sights. It was a really nice way to get outdoors and since the kids both adore animals and love collecting facts about them, it was a perfect way to occupy some time.
We had a bit of daylight left after our tour through the zoo (and the kids still had energy to burn) so we went over to Minnehaha Falls to explore. Minneapolis has such beautiful places like this tucked away everywhere. We ambled down the trails and the kids and Brian took the opportunity to scramble up any rocks they could find. The fall colors were absolutely beautiful. I’m not sure if we could have found a better time to visit.
